Identify the display before choosing a booster.
This page does not read your Mac, display, temperature or EDR headroom. A Mac’s model name alone does not identify an attached monitor.
- Use Apple menu → About This Mac for the Mac model; check the separate model of any external display.
- Look for Liquid Retina XDR or Pro Display XDR, or check the monitor maker’s HDR specifications.
- If support remains unclear, use ordinary brightness and glare fixes rather than assuming a larger boost.

This website helper does not measure brightness or control your Mac. Luxa 1.1.1 is free to download; use the app on your own display to judge its supported range before choosing Pro.
Apple XDR here means a Liquid Retina XDR MacBook Pro display or Apple Pro Display XDR. For another HDR monitor, the connection and macOS-reported EDR range still need checking. A larger software percentage is not a measured increase in nits.
